Bauknecht awarded seven kitchen innovation prizes in 2014
Platinum and gold for the consumers' favourite
January 2014: As part of the 2014 Kitchen Innovation Award, Bauknecht was crowned the consumers' favourite, which bears testimony to consumers' trust in the quality and innovation of Bauknecht products. In addition to this, the highly prestigious award was again given to several Bauknecht products. The FlexiCook induction hobs scored maximum points in all categories, taking the golden Best of Best Award in the large electric appliances category. Other commended appliances include the dishwasher with PowerDry function and the entire iXelium built-in appliances range, which comprises the built-in oven, as well as a built-in microwave compact oven and a built-in combi steamer.
Bauknecht again impressed the 2014 panel of judges, made up of experts and consumers, with its innovative products and concepts. "We are especially honoured to receive the title of favourite brand from consumers," explains Managing Director Marten van der Mei. "We are aware of how much faith consumers have in us, and that makes us proud." Following the pre-selection by an expert panel of judges, a representative panel comprising 1,500 consumers decides which products will receive one of the prestigious Kitchen Innovation awards. Revolutionary innovations such as PowerDry and iXeliumTM in particular, which offer real benefits for everyday living, impressed the judges and consumers in equal measure. The induction hobs with FlexiCook technology, which automatically recognise the size, number and position of pots being used and adapt accordingly, even scored the highest marks in the large electrical appliances category, earning them the Best of the Best Award. The award ceremony will take place on 8 February 2014 at the Ambiente consumer goods fair in Frankfurt. Bauknecht will also be presented with the special Favourite Brand Award in platinum for the second time. Since 2011, this highly prestigious award for companies has been conferred every three years to brands which, like Bauknecht, are synonymous with outstanding product quality, customer focus and brand strength.
Golden Award for the Bauknecht FlexiCook hobs
The development of the FlexiCook hobs focused on their intuitive operation. The FlexiCook zone automatically detects the size of a pot and stores all settings during the cooking process. This means the user can, for example, first prepare a dish at the front area of the hob, and then simply push the pan to the back, where it will carry on simmering at the same temperature. The Premium Slider also allows the power to be controlled steplessly and with just one movement. All of these properties secured the FlexiCook hobs the highest marks in the categories of functionality, innovation, product benefits, design and ecology, earning them the Best of the Best Award 2014 in gold.
Bauknecht PowerDry dishwasher
The dishwasher with PowerDry technology finally makes drying dishes by hand a thing of the past. Every piece of crockery, even plastic parts and glasses, can be washed and dried outstandingly in just one hour. The unique PowerDry ventilation system with dual air circulation means that the moisture left behind inside the dishwasher after the rinse cycle is deliberately removed. Despite their powerful performance, the appliances are extremely economical: thanks to their A+++ Energy Efficiency rating, they keep power consumption permanently low. The judges in the "Kitchen Innovation of the Year" consumer prize rated Bauknecht's PowerDry dishwasher as an award-winning product in 2014 in all five categories: Functionality, Innovation, Product Benefits, Design and Ecology.
The Bauknecht iXeliumTM series
The iXeliumTM range of built-in appliances also earned an outstanding verdict from the judges in all categories. One of the highlights of everyday living is the opportunity to cook and eat together. The Initiative LifeCare presents the KitchenInnovation of the Year award to outstanding products every year. Functionality, ease of use, product benefit, innovation, design and ecology are the evaluation criteria.
The aim of this award, given by experts and consumers, is to promote the quality, functionality and innovation of products, significantly increasing quality of life as a consequence. One feature of this award is the two-stage selection process for kitchen innovations: In order to evaluate each submitted product in its entirety and without bias, consumers as well as skilled experts are included in the jury.
