Award-winning German Home Appliance Brand Bauknecht
Beloved German home appliance brand Bauknecht marks its first expansion outside Europe for the first time this April. Celebrating its grand launch in Hong Kong at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel today, a host of honorable guests attended the officiating ceremony, including Mr Achim Schkade, the acting Consul-General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong, Mr Wolfgang Ehmann, Executive Director of German Industry & Commerce, Dr Roland Rohde, Representative of Hong Kong and South-West China, German Trade & Invest, Mr Barrie Ho, Founder and Director of BARRIEHOArchitecture InteriorsLtd and renowned model Ms Cara G. The event also attracted press and industry members keen to get a first-hand experience of the wide range of product offerings from Bauknecht.
With the special theme of “Orchestrating the Craft in Kitchen”, the launch event presented Bauknecht’s high quality, innovative products to guests against a background of live classical music.
Welcoming guests at the event, Marten van der Mei, Director Marketing Continental, Bauknecht Hausgeräte GmBH, stressed the importance of the brand’s launch in Hong Kong, “Hong Kong is like the Milan of Asia. Consumers are willing to spend a reasonable amount to upgrade their kitchen appliances, and German home appliances have always been their preferred choice. We are confident that the launch of Bauknecht in Hong Kong will re-invent the kitchen experience of local customers like never before.”
Mr Achim Schkade, Acting Consul-General of the Federal Republic of Germany, Hong Kong, also shared his joy over the launch of Bauknecht in Hong Kong. “German brands are always associated with premium design and high quality. Bauknecht is one such well-known, built-in home appliance brand. Its quality is further reinforced by the Plus X Award, a highly-regarded industry award from German trade and consumers.”
Special guest Mr Barrie Ho, Founder and Director of BARRIE HO Architecture, shared his thoughts on design at the event. “As an architectural designer, I believe that beauty is created at the equilibrium between functionality and aesthetics. The signature KULT oven fully demonstrates the ‘less is more’ philosophy with its minimalist design. I especially look forward to meeting Bauknecht’s designers for collaboration opportunities in future projects.”
To showcase the unique features of Bauknecht’s designer KULT oven, Bauknecht’s Product Training Manager, Jürgen Schurr introduced to guests its key features with a cooking demonstration. Jürgenhas been working with the company for 27years and the demonstration showcasedBauknecht’s expertise in the field, baking Jürgen’s creation to perfectionwithout the need to preheat.
Celebrity guest Ms Cara G acted as the chef’s assistant during the cooking demonstration, and expressed her amazement at the outstanding performance of this signature KULT oven. “My grandmother is German and she highly recommended Bauknecht appliances. I love cooking, and the colour screen and pre-set functions of the KULT oven are so easy to manage. I’m sure it will help me become a great chef!”
The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Mr. Edgar Yuen, Vice President, Whirlpool (HK) Ltd., Mr Achim Schkade, Mr Wolfgang Ehmann, Mr Barrie Ho, Mr Marten van der Mei and Ms Cara G, providing the evening’s highlight.
With a 90-year heritage, Bauknecht manufactures a wide range of built-in appliances. The signature products of Bauknecht – the KULT designer range and KOSMOS range with unique integrated handle, and the Cosmopolitan series in white – were all showcased at the launch event.
