Every year, red dot awards the “red dot award: product design”, which is one of the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. With the set goal of honouring excellent design, products are placed into 17 categories. Experts are chosen as adjudicating members for each product category to give their professional opinion on every entry. red dot presents a total of four different awards: “red dot”, “honourable mention”, “red dot: design team of the year” and “red dot: best of the best”.
